School 2.0 pows classroom right in the kisser
Posted by: | CommentsThe U.S. Department of Education study found “On average, students in online learning conditions performed better than those receiving face-to-face instruction.”
Possibly because students mostly sleep in the classroom? Or because they may be suffering from a severe classroom hangover? Either way, we’re pretty sure online students party just as hard. Therefore, alcohol is CLEARLY not a factor in this case.

When Mr. Technology betrays you

A worthwhile chain-letter you say? Hmmph! We typically destroy chain mail before it can burn our retinas with time-wasting acid. Somehow, somewhere, we received one that drew our attention. The letter had some decent information that could protect you from your own technology.
Two instances in which home gadgets were used as tools for thievery:
The first story explained how a burglar broke into a vehicle at a football game. They proceeded to ransack the car and found a dash-mounted GPS. After a little fiddling, they found the victim’s home address where they used the garage door opener to let themselves in.
Sync your bookmarks in Chrome for extra flavor!

And why shouldn’t you add some bookmarky zest? Firefox users have been doing it for several months. Clearly, this is not for amateur chefs!
In their latest installment of web-browser-feature-catchup, the developers of Chromium finally announced the ability to sync your bookmarks across computers using Google Chrome.
Unfortunately, it’s a little more complicated than that. You’ll need to get the latest Dev Version of Chrome. To activate this feature, you must launch Google Chrome with a dash of tech skills. You’ll need to right-click your Chrome shortcut, select Properties, then add –enable-sync after chrome.exe” in the Target line.
Soviet-era flag@whitehouse.gov is no more

During a time when copyrights are totally ignored and the internet runs nakedly free, we have to deal with a White House that believes they need to control what information reaches your brain. Whether from a conservative or liberal administration, Americans will never tolerate information control.
Flag@whitehouse.gov was used to hunt down ‘fishy’ or supposedly ‘mis’information about health care reform. No president in the history of the United States has asked the public to report political opponents and ‘flag’ information they deem incorrect.
We’re sorry to inform everyone that the White House is just as biased and just as motivated to use misinformation as their opponents are. Who are they to deem what is and is not correct information?
Microsoft gets Raped by a Texas Judge

Oh the injustice! Okay, maybe it’s not that graphic. To be honest, Microsoft is probably getting what it deserves.
Toronto based, i4i, alleges Microsoft Word violates their patent (No. 5,787,449) on a method for reading XML.
On Tuesday, judge Leonard Davis, of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, agreed with i4i and ordered Microsoft to halt the sale of Microsoft Word products capable of .XML, .DOCX or DOCM files (XML files) containing custom XML. The judge gave Microsoft 60 days to comply.
Is it possible to live without Email??

Apparently, this guy believes he can.
Leo Babauta from zenhabits.com explains how he’s going to ditch his inbox and declare his independence from email.
Let’s get serious. Is this even possible? We’re a little skeptical since the entire world revolves around email. However, it looks like he’s got a detailed plan that could actually work for him:

Its pretty much the exact same thing as their original architecture.
In fact, they say you probably wont notice much of a change, but there are supposedly some subtle differences.
A router from the heavens
Posted by: | Comments… Well, we checked with God and I guess He never got that memo…
soo… we’ll let you know when we hear something..
Meanwhile, be sure to check out this decent router and stay as far away as possible from this one!
A router stuck in Purgatory

It’s not bad. It could be better. It could be worse. Quite frankly, it’s so-so.
We can tell you one thing, it’s one heck of a baptized baby compared to our previous routing experience.
Just before we lost all hope, the Netgear WNR834 RangeMax NEXT Wireless-N Router happened to be sitting next to our returned abomination. So we thought we’d give the world of wireless one more try before we all quit life.
