Why on earth wouldn't they just use Mac OS X instead of a hybrid iPhone OS? There was so much speculation about the device, I think they had no choice but to spit something out. It's almost as if someone at Apple caught wind of the tablet rumors and rushed a product out just to take advantage of the free press. No flash is a killer, being it is a mobile web/entertainment platform. No multitasking is rough but doesn't necessarily kill it for me as much as no Flash. I like the idea of the device being an e-reader, but LCD is harsh on the eyes where e-paper allows you to read as usual. All-in-all, I like the idea of an Apple slate. I just think the execution is at best weak, at worst stupid. I’m a fan of Apple, but the iPad seems like a rushed idea.
